Ok, let me start this post by saying 2 things….
Firstly that I am SUPER EXCITED! The second that I’m so nervous I just can’t explain!
We have an AMAZING opportunity to try our hand at documentary making for Nat Geo Australia!
A few weeks ago I entered a competition that’s being run by National Geographic AU and Nissan to find the Next Nat Geo – Nissan X-trail Adventurers….
Totally unexpectedly we recieved a phone call!!!
We’ve been chosen as one of 3 families to be sent off on an Aussie Adventure of our choice, to experience the Nissan X-Trail, and become the next Nissan X-trail Nat Geo Adventurers!

We’ll be filming and photographing our adventures and then you’ll all get a chance to watch us!!
We even get to work with a real Nat Geo Film Crew!!!
So yep, I’m TOTALLY nervous about being on TV!!!
Once all 3 families have finished their holidays, Nat Geo will open voting so that one family gets to WIN AN X-TRAIL!!
I can’t tell you how much that would be life changing for us, but whatever happens, just know:
The itinerary we’ve planned will blow your socks off with action, adventure and fun!!
We’ll be heading off toward the end of February and we’ll be sharing our adventure on the way, it is all feeling so very surreal right now!

Ok, I don’t know if I can properly answer the question as I know so little about where to travel in Australia. We’re Kiwi’s who moved here 6 years ago (and love it!). We now have a little Australian (who’s turning 1 in two weeks!) and would love to show her around her country. Pretty sure ‘1000 Great Places to Travel with kids in Australia’ would be able to give us some direction! So our dream destination?- where ever our hearts (and a little advice) lead us 🙂 x

Just saw this– SO excited for you guys! Working with Nat Geo in any capacity would be a dream come true for just about any traveler. We started working with World Wildlife Fund last year, doing guest posts and videos for their blog, and our friends there have been wonderful about hooking us up with like-minded tour operators. You never know where an opportunity like this could lead, so I understand your nervousness AND your excitement. Congrats!

our dream destination is to take the kids to cradle mountain – we had our honeymoon there, and think the kids would really love it, whatever the weather!
Our next dream destination is WEST!!! We are planning a trip from nimbin down to melbourne, up through coober pedy where we plan to sleep underground in a dug out, to Titjikala aboriginal community near Alice Springs and then across to Western Australia.
That’s fantastic – massive congratulations! Can’t wait to see what you get up to around Australia and hopefully you guys get that car! 🙂
Our dream destination is Lake Eildon in Victoria. The area offers fishing, boating, skiing, bushwalking and much, much more! We’d love a houseboat holiday there!

I’ve been wanting to travel around Australia with my 3 home schooled kiddies, but haven’t worked out how to do that financially.
My dream destination would be QLD. We haven’t been there before, and I’d also get to see my dad.
I would love to visit Phillip Island and see the fairy penguins. Just lovely!

The Whitsundays is my dream destination. Snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef…how awesome that would be!
Our dream holiday destination in Australia would definitely have to be 4WD in Kakadu National Park for its history, diversity and beauty! Good luck with the comp, will certainly vote
My favourite destination is “holiday isle” Tasmania, as it’s enriched in fascinating history, beautiful architecture, breathtaking geography, fantastic local crafts and antiques and gastronomic delights.
Our dream destination is Broome – never been that far north or west and I reckon it would be amazing. Going along the beaches on camels, driving down to the Pilbara (big drive) and just experiencing all that is WA!
Wow what an adventure you’re in for, can’t wait to read all about it and live vicariously. My dream destination with the kids is an Around Australia tour highlighting some of Australia’s most significant landmarks, history and beauty.

My dream destination would be Uluru, NT. I heard the sunsets are amazing and the rock leaves you mesmerised for hours.

We’ve just bought a camper trailer and will be packing up our two littlies and dog and heading north for an indefinite road trip! Cape York is somewhere we’ve wanted to go for a long time (among soooo many other places!). We’re hoping to cover a lot of ground over the next couple of years!
